Insurers should address responsibilities and ownership of, and financial resources for, a cybersecurity framework, implement a process for regular risk assessments, secure network infrastructure through segmentation and multiple layers of defense, establish a cybersecurity policy and strategy that applies to the entire enterprise, consider cybersecurity risks as part of outsourcing agreements and due diligence processes, and implement an incident management framework to identify, mitigate and review cyber incidents.
