Federal Bill Introduced to Increase Transparency by Internet Platforms

If passed, platforms with 30 million or more active monthly US users must provide notice of any algorithms used to increase or decrease the content available on platforms and obtain revocable consent from users for collection, sale, sharing or other disclosure of their data; violations will be enforced by the FTC, and individuals can file civil action to obtain a minimum of $5,000 in damages.
