Illinois HB 3910 – Consumer Privacy Act updates

The Act is identical to the version introduced in the previous legislative session; if passed, businesses must comply with CCPA-like requests (e.g., deletion, disclosure, opt-out), provide notice to consumers on the types of PI collected and sold to third parties, and ensure individuals responsible for handling consumer inquiries about the business’s privacy practices are informed of the Act’s requirements and how to direct consumers to exercise their rights.  This would start to bring Illinois into line with CA, CA and CO
