In the first 6 months of 2021, the INAI imposed fines for a total amount of 32,648,000 pesos ($1,639,652 USD) for violations of the LFPDPPP; industries that have been sanctioned the most include financial services and insurance with 17,800,000 pesos ($893,953 USD), information in mass media with 10,100,000 pesos ($507,244 USD) and retail trade with 2,900,000 ($145,644 USD); sanctions are most commonly caused for violations of the principles established in the LFPDPPP or omitting elements in the Notice of Privacy.
