Effective August 1st, 2021, the ANPD may issue a fine up to 2% of a company’s revenue in its last fiscal year (limited to a total of R$ 50,000,000); sanctions can only be applied to violations that have occurred after the effective date or took place before the effective date and continue to occur (the ANPD will not issue any sanctions until its administrative regulation has been approved).
