Express Consent: Italian Energy Company Fined €2.8 Million Over Illegitimate Data Use

An energy company processed personal data for telemarketing activities, which it had not collected directly, but had acquired from other sources; the Garante imposed a fine of approximately 3 million Euros for violations of the GDPR as the company lacked consent for the personal information it used in its telemarketing activities.
