Brazil ANPD Defines LGPD Investigation and Enforcement

Effective October 29, 2021, the ANPD is able to monitor, inspect and apply administrative sanctions for LGPD compliance in accordance with the processes set out in the regulations, with the first monitoring cycle commencing in January 2022; regulated agents have duties to provide access, produce records, submit to audits, and designate a representative with sufficient knowledge and authority to assist the ANPD in its inspections.
