The new Information Commissioner, John Edwards, has spoken about the importance of privacy in his first public talk since taking on the role. As the UK Government talks of plans to overhaul GDPR and focus on “innovation” Edwards has said any future regime needs to respect citizens’ fundamental right to privacy.
