The Brazilian Consumer Defense Institute has begun inquiry into two pharmacies for the collection and use of biometric information in exchange for the release of discounts; they have been asked to answer questions on privacy and security and there is the possibility of a 50 million Brazilian Real fine if infractions of the General Data Protection Law are established.
