Following the release of the UK ICO’s AADC for safeguarding children’s personal data, several members of Congress issued a letter to the CEOs of six major tech companies that process significant amounts of children’s personal data; since lawmakers are proposing legislative updates to COPPA that would include expanded protections similar to the AADC, the tech companies are urged to also apply the privacy enhancements designed for AADC compliance to children and teenage users in the US.
