The company aggregates publicly-available information about millions of individuals, to create dossiers that it sells through an online platform without consent; the court found that the Defendant’s opt out mechanism does not necessarily mean that its unauthorised sale of Plaintiffs’ personal information is fair and it does not comply with the CCPA because the tiny link at the bottom of its homepage provides no notice to consumers that the link exists.
