Protecting Persona Privacy rights – Federal Bill Helps Individuals Delete PI Across All Data Brokers

The value of privacy is starting to come center stage in our digital society.

The proposed Data Elimination and Limiting Extensive Tracking and Exchange Act, aka DELETE Act, will establish a centralized system for individuals to request simultaneous deletion of their personal information across all data brokers, and for other purposes.

In this act, the FTC would be directed to create an online tool where Americans can submit a one-time data deletion request to all registered data brokers that hold their personal data, and the bill would also create a ‘do not track list’ to prohibit companies to collect these users’ data in the future.

This could be a fundamental move towards protecting the privacy and freedom of American Citizens.
